Very few of us have the humility to learn from the horse, and thus to properly communicate with him in his own language. If you choose to journey with DHF, it may require you to evolve, to change both who you are and how you perceive yourself and your horse*. Are you ready to begin your journey? Of course you are!
DHF Owner and Head Trainer Jen Truett has studied with numerous trainers over the years, combining their various methods and her own experience into her own Dare to Dream Training System (D2D). This system combines Mary Wanless' Ride with Your Mind (TM) methodology, the classical training approach of "S" level judge Sue Madden-Mandas (and her incredible judge's perspective), George Williams, Dr. Gerd Heuschmann, David de Wispelaere; and Harry Witney's focus on the horse's mental state using Horsemanship techniques that enable human-equine communication to happen with empathy for how the horse feels about the requests. Combining these methods created a system that enhances communication between you and your horse resulting in happy horses and happy riders.
The D2D Training Program encompasses the entire spectrum of equine training to meet every horse and owner’s needs. From start to finish, we work with horses through manners training and ground work, long-lining, lungeing, breaking, exercise riding, young horse to advanced training in dressage, show prep and professional showing.
For those who are seriously ambitious about training and showing, here's a list of Jen's students who have earned USDF medals:
Helen Pianca: Bronze and Silver
Julie Christie: Silver
Sheila Wilson: Bronze
Ashley Holden: Bronze

DHF's Training Program
We want you and your horse to be successful. We offer several different ways to complete a DHF Training Package. We have set up our pricing so that the client is simply paying for 45 minutes of the DHF instructor's time and that time can be spent however is necessary to meet the client's and horse's needs. Here are some examples of ways to learn at DHF:
- A DHF trainer can ride your horse in a training session
- You ride your horse in a lesson
- You receive an off-horse theory lesson
There is a fee when you haul-in your horse. There is no extra fee to use your own horse if you're a DHF boarder.

DHF Lesson Policies review before your first lesson
Video Lessons are another service Jen offers. You upload a video to the Internet of you working your horse, send the link to Jen and set up a time for your video lesson with her. She will call you at that time and go over your video with you, teaching you about the biomechanics of you and your horse. She will give you homework to do, and in your next lesson, she will go over the video resulting from your homework. Contact Jen at Jen@myDHF.com or 937.532.3108 for more information and to set up your lessons.

Intensive Training Testimonial:
Dear Jen & Lenny,
After returning home to Minnesota after my month of intensive training in Oct-Nov 2012, I wanted to thank you for the experience.
The family at DHF made me feel so welcome and supported and made sure my horse Denali was comfortable and well taken care of.
The opportunity for daily lessons with Jen and her assistant Helen Trimeloni was a great education. The experience of watching Jen ride her own horses daily and her commentary was like having my own personal master's program. Total immersion in RWYM based instruction has really reinforced both my position changes and my knowledge to pass on to my students.
Having the support team of a phenomenal farrier, vet and myofacial practitioner was beyond helpful. When I brought my horse Denali to DHF I knew I had to make saddle changes and purposefully had waited (too long!) until I had Jen to help me thru evaluation, measuring and ordering thru Karen Borne. What a relief to have this expertise available at one farm.
Jen, I had told you I had not worked with a dressage trainer/instructor in 18 yrs because of my disgust with lack of real knowledge of horse and human biomechanics out there. You were the first instructor I have met that respects my own knowledge and helped me make the connections to horsemanship that I've been focusing on over the years. It is comforting to find a kindred spirit in the horse world.
Thank you to the entire DHF family (wonderful boarders included!!) for making my month of intensive training a life changing experience. I am so glad to have had the opportunity and that I have a winter to sort thru everything I learned.
