Jen has SO much good news!! She was selected for one of five $1000 Barnett Continuing Education for Instructors Grants from the Dressage Foundation to attend the USDF FEI Instructor Workshop! At the training, she learned a lot and amazed people with Taffy and his story. After the class, Jen was interviewed about it on The Dressage Radio Show. The latest big news is that Jen was accepted to the Emerging Young Horse Observation Program where she and Dreamy will be observed at a show to evaluate if they are a team USEF might want to get into their "pipeline to the podium" developed to identify and grow talent at all levels. COOL!
Welcome to the Dancing Horse Farm - South (DHF-S) page!
Each year, DHF Owner and Head Trainer Jennifer Truett heads south with her horses and several clients and their horses to escape Ohio's winter and benefit from the tremendous training opportunities available in the Wellington, Florida, area during the season (January-March). While there, Jen attends trainer training seminars and workshops, FEI training workshops, gets lessons herself with Olivia LaGoy-Wentz (the alternate to the London USEF Olympic Team) and works on improving her skills in every way. She also learns about interesting new veterinary procedures, equipment and products as well as other horse- or dressage-related products. Her clients get lessons on their horses and have Jen ride their horses on a schedule they agree on.
The farm where Jen stays provides turnout for each horse and very comfy and safe stalls, as well as a well-maintained dressage arena. It's only minutes from the Global Dressage Festival grounds, so it's an easy haul with horses. There are trails all around this highly-equestrian area, and near the GDF grounds, they have thoughtfully installed buttons at rider height to change the "Don't Walk" signs to "Walk." Many riders simply ride their horses to shows if they're close enough.
Jen welcomes visitors to DHF-S and enjoys going to shows with them, whether to show their horses, for them to watch her show on of her horses, or for all of them to enjoy international dressage competition at its finest.
Jen wrote about this video (which shows Dreamy's second-ever ride at 3-3): "My little rockstar sailed through today's 3-3 like a champ, earning a 68.750%! I didn't pay for yesterday's ride to be a qualifier for Regionals, so we just need one more score, and he's good to go! He even added 3 ones in an attempt to get extra credit points to make up for my almost forgetting the halt/reinback at A! Note to self, next time, don't get lost in the "Wow, that was such a nice extended trot!" thought so we don't blow through that pesky halt/reinback! Taking his picture is always hilarious; I couldn't pick which one I liked best with his blue ribbons...he is thus far undefeated at Global!"
