Hi. I'm Joan Johnston. I'm the Barn Manager and the person current clients call about their horse's daily care. I have 30+ years of experience in barn management in many different disciplines.
I care about the horses as individuals, not just as part of the herd at DHF. Pictured with me is Ricos, Lynda Sappington's horse. Lynda had back surgery in April 2019 and isn't allowed to do anything with her horse until her back is fully fused. The staff and I make sure Ricos gets plenty of attention because all his mommy can do is give him treats from outside the stall. We pay close attention to every horse in our care.
I have been with horses my whole life. I started riding at 3, switched from show horses to race horses in my 20s. I have shown in barrel races, western pleasure, English pleasure, equitation, halter. I have managed a race barn, a show barn and a private ranch. Now I just enjoy trail riding and my dogs.
I have an 18 year old retired western pleasure mare we call Penny (registered name, I'm Talking Hot) I use as a trail buddy and beginner lesson horse. My Paint gelding's barn name is DD (registered name, Rockn the Diesel). My third horse is Deacon, who I'm training. We haven't decided what he wants to be, so he will get cutting and reining training to see what he likes to do.
My wonderful husband, Jamie, tolerates all my adventures. We also have two dogs and four cats that are my babies.
If you are a current client with boarding questions, please feel free to email Joan at Joan@myDHF.com or call her at (937) 657-1540.
Potential clients should call Lenny Truett at 513.850.9592 or email him at Lenny@myDHF.com for questions about boarding and the farm itself.

My name is Lori Aman and I am the DHF Office Manager and Bookkeeper.
My professional bookkeeping experience involves accounting, 12 years of corporate cash management and 17 years as a trader and manager of staff in a Treasury Department. I also have some credit and collections experience.
Personally, I have ridden for most of my life (Quarter Horse, a little jumping, a little dressage) and was fortunate to find DHF in July of 2007 and start lessons with Jen. In July of 2008 I bought Jen’s mare, Nachtwind DHF (Breezy) and began another dream come true, learning to ride an FEI horse. When she had a career-ending injury in 2013, Jen had a three-year-old, Wildorado's Zachary, in training she said would be perfect for me. As usual when pairing horses and riders, she was right. When Zack died suddenly from colic, Jen had another perfect horse waiting for me, a 6 year old Hanoverian gelding named Rockin' Rousseau. Rocky has lovely gaits and is a sweetheart, but he and I had some problems, so Jen found me Arnie, a Halflinger gelding who is wonderful and a lot of fun for me.
Since I've been at DHF, I have had the opportunity to participate in clinic lessons with Mary Wanless, Heather Blitz, Dr. Gerd Heuschmann and David de Wispeleare and of course many, many lessons with Jen and other DHF Instructors.
In my various positions, I am thrilled to be able to contribute to the success of Dancing Horse Farm, as I believe wholeheartedly in its mission and "Dare to Dream."

Hi, I'm Lynda Sappington DHF's Marketing Director. I'm a professional sculptor, producing bronze horses, domestic animals, wildlife, some people, lots of trophies in bronze and resin, and one (so far!) life-size bronze of a 17 hand Friesian stallion. I play with paint but wouldn't call myself a painter - yet. I don't know if I'll ever paint anything I consider good enough to show or sell, but it's a lot of fun to play with color!
I'm also a writer (books on Amazon, a short story in an anthology and numerous magazine articles, as well as a book on how to find and care for your perfect sport horse co-authored by Jen Truett that is currently seeking a publisher). My experience as a writer led to my being asked to do the DHF Newsletter. My experience at building and maintaining websites for my art and writing business led to my being asked to build and maintain a new DHF website (the previous site - Jen built this one). My marketing experience from my business led to my being asked to be Marketing Director for DHF. And since my daughter (Jen Truett, co-owner of DHF with her husband, Lenny) asked so nicely, I agreed. :)
I live on 8 acres just 3/10's of a mile from DHF with my dear husband of nearly 50 years, John, two house cats (Cricket and Jared) and a fluffy white Havanese dog named Toby. My sweet horse, "El Paso Aricos" (AKA "Ricos") is half-Andalusian/half-Appendix Quarter Horse (when you meet him, ask him to smile). He's my retired dressage horse (in 2019, he's 24). Ricos and I had fun showing dressage for a few years, then he helped Jen earn half of her points toward her Silver Medal. Did I mention he's not only a sweetheart but talented? He is! Now we putter around, since both of us have aging bodies. He's still a lot of fun to ride.
I figure dressage is so complex and physically demanding that it will keep both my brain and my body healthier as I age, so I'm glad I chose to try it. Now that we're living down here in Lebanon (and loving it!), I see Jen a lot more often and can see my horse every day too! Bliss!

The solid foundation of this busy farm is Jen's husband, Lenny. An aerospace engineer (a real-life rocket scientist) by trade, he enjoys constantly improving the farm. He is always on the lookout for something to invent, design or build, including building potato guns and cannons. When he finds free time (free time seems be lost and in need of being found), he also loves to play disc golf and fly his fleet of radio-controlled airplanes. He also finds great joy in doing anything that involves his big toy---the tractor. Even though when he and Jen married in 2000, he had no horse exposure at all, he has developed a keen eye and become a great ground coach for her over the years. He also excels in his role as the best horse show husband on the planet.
