Performance Horses We've Sold
“All horses deserve, at least once in their lives, to be loved by a little girl.” – Anonymous
This page will introduce you to the horses DHF has matched to new Dancing Partners. Jen Truett works very hard to match horse and rider perfectly, and based on clients' comments, she's done a wonderful job so far. Some of her clients have sent in testimonials about their purchase experience and their joy in their new horses. Those are here: Dancing Partners' Testimonials All photos are copyright DHF except for the ones labeled "www.BobTarr.com" - those are used with permission.

Testimonial from one of Jen's clinic clients, Sarah McKenzie:
I contacted Jen in September 2016 (after working with another trainer for 6 months) to help me find a special riding partner. I didn’t want just any nice horse; I wanted the middle-age women’s dream horse - gentle, small, young, 3rd level, uncomplicated and yes, even sound. And while I recognized this was an uncommon combination of traits in a dressage horse, I knew Jen was the person to help me when she didn’t try to persuade me to buy something easier to find, e.g. large, aging, hot.
From the start I was impressed with Jen’s approach. She had clear criteria to narrow the search (for example, reviewing x-rays paid by the seller before traveling) and had an excellent vet on call to quickly review medical files. She was efficient and focused. She took my wish list with her on a shopping trip to Europe in November and found my dream horse!
Parker is a 15.2, 6 year old Dutch Warmblood, 3rd level, with the most charming, eager, engaged personality I’ve ever met. He is brave, safe and has beautiful gaits. I never imagine I would own such a high quality horse that is so perfect for me. Every day I’m just happy to own him and happy I met Jen.

Jen Truett's imported Danish Warmblood, Sunset N, whose gaits are gorgeous and who has a sweet personality, just didn't have the ambition to be an FEI horse. Jen always wants horses to be happy in their work, so he now belongs to a rider who he will help get up the levels and be fun for her to ride.

Wildorado's Mandalay is a 3 year old Danish Warmblood we bought as a weanling along with Wildorado's Zachary. Like Zack (seen below), he began training in April 2013. Manny has been purchased by a dressage rider who is looking forward to teaching him how to move up the levels! She's excited that Manny likes to jump, as she plans to cross-train him in eventing, as well.

Wildorado's Rhapsody is a2008 Danish Warmblood bred in Colorado that Jen bought as part of a group of 3 young horses to resell. She was sold to Dasha Cutler of Prospec, KY, who comes to the Mary clinics. Dasha says she and Rhapsody are absolutely in love with each other! It will be fun to see them in future clinics!

Nachtwind DHF, AKA "Breezy," is a 1998 Half-Andalusian mare who was purchased as a weanling by Jen Truett. Jen raised her, competed her to 2nd Level, and trained her up to Fourth Level before selling her to Lori Aman of Mason OH, who is shown in the photo above. Lori is thrilled to own an FEI level horse and she and Breezy get on wonderfully together. Jen is happy that Breezy has Lori as her new "mom." They're a perfect match.

Lisalotte, a 2002 Oldenburg mare, was one of Jen's own horses, one she brought with her from Maryland. She purchased Lisa as a weanling and trained and competed her through First Level. She was sold to Georgia Clement of Merritt, British Columbia, who wants to raise babies out of this daughter of the great stallion Leonidas.

Lone Star Q, a 2008 Hanoverian mare, was one of the horses involved in the training project Jen did for a breeder in Maryland. DHF Instructor Sheila Wilson purchased her sight unseen, trusting Jen's promise that they were well-suited to each other. Sheila is having a blast training "Sugar Lips" (Lone Star's nickname) in both dressage and eventing.

Sjolling, a 1997 Friesian gelding, was the horse that inspired Karen Borne to become a master saddler herself because he was so hard to fit. Karen sent him to Jen to train, then decided she needed to sell him. He competed to Third Level and was schooling PSG when he was sold. His purchaser, Sandy Heinke of Dousman WI, was unable to come see him in person, but after Jen talked with both his potential owner and Sandy's trainer, she knew they'd be a good match. Sandy trusted Jen and her trainer and purchased Sjolling sight unseen, having only seen him on videos. Since he was shipping to his new home near Christmas, Karen provided a Christmas halter to go with him and Jen spent two hours french braiding his mane with red and green ribbons. He's the biggest "Christmas pony" ever! He's pictured at his new home in his Christmas halter and braided mane.
